Meiho University
Meiho University was formerly known as Meiho Nursing Junior College. It was founded in 1964 by the renowned medical figure Dr. Hsu Pang-hsing, based on his mission to elevate the domestic nursing profession and give back to his hometown. He gathered prominent medical figures from the Kaohsiung and Pingtung areas to organize the establishment of the college. Preparations were approved in 1965, and enrollment officially began in 1966 for students in the five-year day division nursing program. Named Meiho Nursing Junior College, it was the first private nursing junior college in Taiwan. To pursue further development and adapt to changing social environments, a two-year nursing program was added in 1984. The school was upgraded to the Meiho Institute of Technology in 2000 and was officially renamed Meiho University in 2010.
