Chaozhou Cold & Hot Ice Shop
Arriving at the Chaozhou Roundabout, you will see Chaozhou's most famous hot-and-cold ice shops—"A-Lun Ice Shop" and "Zheng Lao Pai Hot-and-Cold Ice." If you ask local residents which one is the original, "A-Lun Ice Shop" is the founding shop of Chaozhou hot-and-cold ice.
However, today both shops have developed their own distinct flavors. What they share in common are the freshly handmade stuffed tangyuan and the small tangyuan toppings. In the perpetual summer of Chaozhou, you can enjoy a bowl of hot-and-cold ice in any season: eat it with shaved ice when it is hot, or enjoy just the warm toppings when it is cold. The combination of warm tangyuan and refreshing shaved ice is a unique and classic sight of old Chaozhou.
