Pingtung Industrial Park
To assist industrial entrepreneurs in securing land for factory construction, the industrial zone under the Pingtung Urban Plan was developed into the Pingtung Industrial Park. This project was promoted by the Industrial Parks Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and developed with investment from BES Engineering Corporation. Planning and construction commenced in November 1973, and the development of the total area of 120 hectares was completed in April 1976. In 1982, due to the expansion of the Pingtung-Eluanbi Highway, 6.8151 hectares within the park were expropriated. By February 1984, the actual total developed area of the industrial park was finalized at 113.1849 hectares.
